Gallery owner
"It has been my privilege to have know Larry Bennett for some five years and witness his artistic talent. Through his various pursuits and photographic challenges Larry has captured the dynamics and drama of life - whether the subject be a flower, bridge or a small child. And his ability to photograph art work is evident in the book about Northwest artist Atwood.
Recently Bennett has added a new drama to his portraits. The faces seem to be captured in the web of time, as the viewer is fascinated by the imagery.
I must also add that I have admired Larry Bennett's contributions to his community. He volunteers his himself and talents to many charitable causes."

Head of Olympic College Multimedia Department

"Several years have passed since I got to know Larry Bennett as one of my students. He was like the root of a tree; all knurly and scuffed up from a rough life. I could tell he had been through a lot. His intelligent, blue eyes scanned and peered and seemed to be hunting for something. What was it?
He was resigned, but trying to root his way out from under piles of rocks. First , he tried one way with a certain type of media , then another way and yet again with another. Soon he was gathering skills like leaves around himself. I did not, at that time, get to witness the full foliage of his development because he finished his courses and moved on.
The other day, after having been away for some time, he dropped in to my office , at Olympic College , where I work. He showed me some of his recent photographs. I was very pleasantly rewarded when I looked at what he had been doing. In fact I saw a man who had found answers and his art that expressed them. A tree grows as long as there is life in it and Larry has just started to bloom with such potentially magical flowers."

Joe Silverthorn helped me learn to view the world not as an entrepreneur, businessman, communications manager or corporate director, but instead to see and expereince my surroundings with the eyes and heart of an artist. The opportunity he gave me to rediscover not only the world, but a part of me I had long forgotten left a lasting, and positive impression.
"Larry Bennett is more than just a talented photographer. He is a survivor who has weathered extraordinary life challenges with strength, resourcefulness and initiative. From capturing the natural beauty of the British Columbia inside passage to portraying the colorful "Indie Band Scene" on the Bremerton waterfront, Larry's artistry captures the full range of nature and the human experience."

Michael Boltwood is a friend and professional who surprised me with his comments concerning my artistic abilities and breadth and scope of my photographic skils subject matter.

Dr. Boltwood prefers images of people to pictures of places, things, flowers, plants, nature and the like. He may not like every image I show him, but when he sees one he likes he makes sure there is no doubt about his feelings. Praise from him is hard won, but truly worth the effort . The subject of this image was a participant at the 2009 Washington State Reniassance and Fantasy Faire

Photographer's Note:
Through the years I have had several jobs, developed several skills and worked in numerous cities and countries. My strongest skills and most enjoyable have been and are writing and photography. No matter my job description or position, one thing has remained a certainty; I am a photographer by determination as well as inclination. If I am not capturing images as part of my work, then I do it in my free time.
For the past several years I have combined my love of photography with a newly discovered joy of working with challenged children.
Photographically I have also discovered the challenges and satisfaction of capturing images of performance artists and enthusiasts taking part in events such as the Washington State Renaissance and Fantasy Faire.
I can’t display much of my school-activity-based photography and images because the children, parents and school administrators expect and deserve privacy.
My events photography is a different matter. On this web site there are several sections devoted to the Renaissance and Fantasy Faire.
I feel honored by the testimonials provided by artists, media professionals, educators and other professionals on this page and am proud to share them with you. Thanks for visiting
